Haakem

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026 · Beta

Haakem is a messaging app where an AI referee follows your debates. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. In short: Haakem is the third participant in every debate and reads every message. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps.

Data controller

Oğulcan Tanrıyar (Haakem). This section will be updated with company details once the company being founded for Haakem is registered. Contact: privacy@haakem.com

What we collect

DataWhy
Phone numberSign-in and account verification; letting people who know your number add you to a debate. Your number is never shown to other users.
Display nameTo identify you in debates. You can change it in Profile.
Profile photo (optional)So your contacts recognize you. Stored at a public but unguessable link; you can remove it in Profile.
Debate messages, images and topicsTo provide messaging and let Haakem follow the debate and give a verdict.
Haakem's notes and verdicts, your "fair?" votesTo show verdicts and measure Haakem's quality.
Push tokenTo send new-message notifications.
Online statusTo show your contacts you are online. You can turn it off in Profile; "last seen" is never stored or shown.
Technical logs (duration, cost and error type of Haakem calls)To run the service and monitor cost. These logs contain no message content.

What we do not collect: We do not access your address book; only the person you type or select is sent to our servers. We do not collect location, advertising IDs or analytics/tracking data. Voice dictation is not recorded (see below). Location and camera metadata (EXIF) is removed from images on your phone before upload.

How Haakem (the AI) processes your data

Voice dictation

The microphone button turns your speech into text. Audio is not recorded and is never sent to Haakem's servers. If your phone supports on-device Turkish speech recognition, transcription happens on the phone; otherwise the operating system's dictation service is used (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android), just like the keyboard microphone.

We do not share your data with anyone else, except with competent authorities where legally required. For international transfers and legal bases, see the KVKK Notice.

Security

Messages are sent over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored on encrypted disks. Because Haakem must be able to read messages, we do not use end-to-end encryption and make no such claim. Only members can see a debate; images are shown through time-limited links available only to debate members.

Reports and blocking

When you report a message or a person, your report and the last 30 messages of that debate are kept for review; the reported person is not told who reported them. People you block are not notified.

Retention

During the beta, debates, images and verdicts are kept until you delete your account. When you delete your account, your name and photo are deleted and your messages and images are replaced with "This message was deleted", preserving other members' history. Images Haakem finds inappropriate are deleted immediately. Shorter, automatic retention periods will be added to this policy before public launch.

Your rights and account deletion

You have the right to access your data, request correction or deletion, and object to processing (KVKK art. 11; GDPR where applicable). You can delete your account immediately in the app under Profile > Delete my account. For other requests, write to privacy@haakem.com from or with your registered phone number; we respond within 30 days.

Age

Haakem is for users aged 18 and over.

Changes

When we change this policy we update the date above and announce significant changes in the app. The Turkish version is the governing text.
